According to Forrester’s latest report on social media advertising, in 2016 brands spent more punting their wares on social platforms than the combined advertising revenues of Disney, Comcast, Fox and Time Warner — which were pretty decent.

Despite a number of setbacks, mostly centering on reporting opacity and ad fraud, global social ad spending hit US$36bn last year.
